Hello! 

My name is Patrick Carland-Echavarria. I am a cultural historian of modern Japan. My research examines queer art, literature, and history in Japan from a transnational perspective. I received my PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Pennsylvania, and I am currently serving as the Tanaka Junior Research Fellow in Japanese Studies at Pembroke College, University of Oxford.
